Ann L. A. Menzel joined the Iowa Savings Bank’s Trust Department in December of 2015. Prior to joining Iowa Savings Bank, Ann was in-house legal counsel for Roberts & Dybdahl Inc., a buildings products wholesale distributor with locations through-out the Midwest. In her fifteen years with Roberts & Dybdahl, Ann provided legal and business advice on a wide range of subjects for the company. In 2010, Roberts & Dybdahl appointed Ann as General Counsel and Vice President for its subsidiary, Astro Buildings Inc., where she advised the business on a variety of legal and management issues, including in the areas of contracts, collections, benefits, tort liability, taxation, and employment law. In 2014, the family sold the businesses assets. Ann remained with the company, as both employee and consultant, through most of 2015 to complete the wind down of operations.
Prior to that, Ann clerked with Iowa’s Second Judicial District in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Ann obtained her Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School in 1999, where she graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was awarded the Order of the Coif, as well as five CALI awards. While obtaining her degree from Drake, Ann clerked for various well-known Des Moines law firms.
Prior to attending Drake University, Ann worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP as a tax accountant, and obtained her Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) designation while in their employ.
In 1994, Ann graduated with honors from Kansas State University with a Masters of Accountancy and later that year received the Golden Key Award for the top CPA exam score in the State of Kansas.
